| The
prediction for today was the middle of
Oklahoma, we set off south, then moved west to get in behind
it.
Noticing rotation we were temped to gravel roads, which turned to dirt
roads which aren't to bad unless they are wet. Once wet they are just
like driving on ice, needless to say we got stuck halfway up the hill.
Steve and myself got out and pushed Pete and the van back
down. We
back tracked until we got back onto the tarmac road. |
 |
| By
then we had lost valuable time on the storm,
and after that we where just chasing our tail. We crossed a
heavy
part of the storm in hope to gain distance only to be caught
in
heavy rain and wind. we parked the van behind a bank for shelter, at
one point the wind was rocking the van. |
 |
| To
our right was once a road, now a river. You
can see by the pickup how much rain dropped in a short time. |
 |
| We
finished the night in the Great Western,
Kearney and was treated to a shower of hail. |
