Well another good day, another very brief tornado how many can we get this year. We started the day in Gillette, Wyoming, traveling down the I25 to Cheyenne where Paul turned east to drop into the watch box from the north. We continued south as storms started popping up to west from over the Rockies Click on me Click on me
We continued south as storms started popping up to west from over the Rockies, we think the storm might have given us the thumbs up for today, or maybe it wanted to hitch a lift, and yes that cloud really did look like that! Click on me
We got as far as Brush and noticed a cell to the west and decided to turn around and head after it. Martin and Andy decide to continue into the tornado watch box, so we have now got 3 teams all going for different places. Paul and Ian coming in from the north, Martin and Andy heading into the middle of the watch box, and us on the west. To the right is a couple more photos from today. Click on me Click on me

We got some really nice shots and got to see a very brief (what we think would be classified as a) land spout (click here for a video clip) south east of Keenesburg, caught by the video camera running in the front window. Finally blowing the storm out at Cope, and heading south for the next day. We have booked into the Lamar Inn, Lamar Colorado and it's 4:00 cdt in the morning and I'm off to bed!

I haven't spoken to the other two teams as we have no phone signal where we are at the moment, we think Martin and Andy is in Goodland Kansas, not sure where Paul and Ian are. We had another good day, and hope the others had as much luck, now we have to see if it is possible to regroup.
