We
headed, south and went under a cell forming, and decided to stay on the
south side and take pictures.
The cloud grew to 50,000 feet, and then just collapsed. A new cell
then appeared 15-20 miles north so we drove to to intercept it.
While heading north we could see a new one forming about 10 miles south
of where the old one had collapsed. So we started to become the filling
in the
sandwich for a while as the two cells grew and expanded making the gap
where we were smaller and smaller (Storm Chaser sandwich anyone?).
Again this cell collapsed, so we were then left on the north side of
all the cells, too wide to go round in time, and to dangerous to go
through, so unfortunately we called it a night and booked into the Days
Inn at Brady, Texas. |
